Transportation

You can reach far by foot in the old city of Aleppo as everything is concentrated around the citadel. Taxis are available everywhere and are extremely cheap. It is customary to leave a tip for the driver.

If you are planning to visit sites outside the city, you can rent a car with or without a driver. Your tour operator or hotel will probably be able to help you find a suitable solution.

If you are planning to take a trip to other major cities in Syria, you can use the train or choose from a range of bus operators that travel between Aleppo and other cities. Buses leave every 10 minutes from Aleppo to Damascus, and are less frequent to other major cities. There are good bus connection to Lebanon, turkey, Iraq and Iran from Aleppo.
